Welcome to the adventure!
Life a as Cub Scout is fun, adventurous and rewarding. As a Cub Scout, your young person will join their Cub Scout Pack on exciting adventures, discovering hidden talents and exploring the world around them. The Cub Scout Pack is the third section of the Scouting Movement and is for young people aged 8-10 ½ years old. Cub Scouts meet together as a Pack and often work in small groups called ‘Sixes’. Akela (Jane – Cub Scout Leader) runs the Cub Scout Pack and is assisted by a team of adults. The Cub Scout leadership team is named after characters of the Jungle Book, which dates back to the names given to the leaders when the section was started as Wolf Cubs in 1916. In this section, excitement and adventure are key. The Cub Scout Programme offers Cub Scouts a huge variety of activities, indoors and outdoors, allowing them to be creative and get involved in their local community. After a few week, your young person will be ‘invest’. This is when they promise to do their best and help others. To find various versions of the Cub Scout Promise on our page below. |
