We are pleased to announce that on Sunday 9th November 2025 both the 17th Nene (The Hamptons) Scout Group and the Hampton Guiding Units will be coming together to take part in the annual Hampton Community Remembrance Sunday Event.
Both Uniform Sections will be parading the new extended 2024 route again this year; from ‘The Green’ between Falcon Way & Tudor Avenue, Hampton Vale; around Hampton to the Memorial Garden. During the Parade the Uniform Sections will be meeting up with the Church congregation on the way down to the Memorial Garden in time for the 2-minute National Silence, laying of the poppy crosses and wreaths and prayer led by the CSK Church. |
On Sunday 9th November 2025; Please meet your Section Team Leader and relevant Section at ‘The Green’ between Falcon Way & Tudor Avenue in Hampton Vale (PE7 8EU) at 09:55am, we have included a map of the position of where to meet your sections. Your young person will be required to wear Full Scouting or Guiding Uniform. Unless there is severe wet weather, coats will not be allowed, and the young people should layer up under their uniforms for the cold weather. People like to see their uniforms and not just coats! Poppies may be worn on their uniforms. Please remember to look smart for this Remembrance event.

The Parade will move off at 10:15am and will parade down the footpath of Vale Drive, follow the path by Redshank Way, down the path by Hampton Vale Primary Academy, up towards the ‘The Tump’ via Four Chimney Crescent, round via Hargate Way to Hampton Hargate Primary School and then follow the footpath direct to Braymere Road, where we will meet up with the Church Congregation and continue to parade down Braymere Road to the Hampton Memorial Garden.
The young people enjoyed seeing their friends and family along the route last year, and so we request that, as last year, parents and other friends and family stand somewhere along the route, watch the parade go past, and then you are more than welcome to join the end of the parade (after the last Guiding Unit has passed) and follow us down to the memorial garden. |
Adult Help NeededTo help the Parade to go smoothly we are asking for adult volunteers to be Parade Marshalls and help with stopping the Traffic as the Parade crosses roads along the route.
All Hi-visibility Vests are provided and, on most crossings, you will be paired together. For this year’s route we are looking for minimum of 14 volunteers. If you are able to volunteer, please fill in our online form; and we thank you in advance for your support. Once we arrive at the Memorial Garden each section will be given an area to stand and will be invited forward to lay their crosses at the appropriate time. At around 11:20am all Section Units will be dismissed directly from the Memorial Garden back to their Parents. Refreshments will be available from CSK Church if you wish.
