Welcome to the adventure!
Life as a Scout is an eye-opening adventure. Scouting exists to actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society. The Scout section is the third and oldest section in the Scout Movement, for young people aged from 10 ½ - 14 years old. Scouts meet together as a Troop and work in small groups called ‘Patrols’ led by a Scout Patrol Leader. The Patrol Leaders work with the Leadership Team in setting the programme and in decisions affecting the Troop. The Patrol system is one of the important ways that young people can take responsibility for themselves and others. our Section Leader runs the Scout troop and is assisted by a team of adults. In their Troop Scouts make friends with like-minded young people from all walks of life. Together, they will earn badges and awards by taking part in indoor and outdoor activities. When Scouts join they are ‘invested’ – making a promise to do their best and help others. To find various versions of the Scout Promise on our website. |
