Our Sections
Four Youth Sections aged 4 to 14 make up our Scout Group,
​with Volunteering opportunities available from 14 years + 

4 to 6 years

Tuesday 17:15 - 18:15

​To help young people gain skills for life at a time when it matters most and where it's most needed.

6 to 8 years

Monday 18:15 - 19:15

​Try new things. Make new friends. Joining Beavers is just the beginning of your big adventure.

8 to 10½ years

Thursday 19:00 - 20:30 

Develop new skills. Soar to great heights. ​Being a Cub opens up a whole other world.

10½ to 14 years

Tuesday 19:00 - 20:30

Jump in and get muddy. Give back and get set.  Scouts ignore the butterflies and go for it.

14 to 18 years

Young Leaders
​ Young Leaders are Explorer Scouts who volunteer  in a Squirrel Drey, Beaver Colony, Cub Pack or Scout Troop.

18 years +

Adult Volunteers

The 17th Nene (The Hamptons) Scout Group currently has One Squirrel Scout Drey, One Beaver Scout Colony, One Cub Scout Pack and a Scout Troop, each unit has a name and all the names of the units’ link together. We have named all our units’ after UK chief Scouts past and present, Our Squirrel Scout Drey is named 'Purdy' after our 8th Chief Scout George Purdy 1996 - 2004. Our Beaver Scout Colony is named ‘Grylls’ after our 10th Chief Scout Bear Grylls 2009 - 2024. Our Cub Scout Pack is named after our Scouting founder and 1st Chief Scout and is called ‘Baden Powell’ after Lord Baden Powell, who was Chief Scout from 1907 - 1941, and finally our Scout Troop is called ‘Duncan’ named after our 9th Chief Scout Peter Duncan (former Blue Peter Presenter 1980’s) 2004 – 2009.
